GLEE’s Dianna Agron is in talks to star in Luc Besson’s upcoming action-thriller MALAVITA, where she’ll co-star opposite Robert De Niro and Michelle Pfieffer. Tommy Lee Jones is also in negotiations with to join the cast. Besson co-wrote the script as well and will produce alongside Pierre-Ange Le Pogam and Virginie Silla.
Based on the book BADFELLAS, the story centers on an American mob boss (De Niro) in the Witness Protection Program who is hiding with his family in the Normandy region of France. The man can’t stop his Mafia ways and begins to impose his will on the small unsuspecting town he lives in. His actions eventually attracts the mob he squealed on. The article failed to include which roles the other cast members were up for but if I had to guess, Pfieffer will be playing his wife with Agron playing his daughter.
EuropaCorp will handle international sales with Relativity Media distributing the pic domestically. Agron, who plays Quinn Fabray on Fox’s hit musical dramedy GLEE was last seen on the big screen in I AM NUMBER FOUR opposite Alex Pettyfer and is rumored to be starring in the next installment in Paramount Pictures’ hugely popular and massively successful horror franchise PARANORMAL ACTIVITY 4.
