Although this was to be expected for quite some time now, an update to the official IMAX site reveals that Zack Snyder’s superhero reboot MAN OF STEEL will in fact be in 3D and IMAX. The IMAX release of the film will be digitally re-mastered into the image and sound quality of The IMAX Experience with proprietary IMAX DMR (Digital Re-Mastering) technology.

With a script by David S. Goyer, MAN OF STEEL is set to star Henry Cavill as Clark Kent/Superman, Amy Adams, Diane Lane, Kevin Costner, Michael Shannon, Antje Traue, Russell Crowe, Ayelet Zurer, Christopher Meloni, Harry Lennix, Laurence Fishburne and Richard Schiff. Warner Bros. has scheduled the film for release on June 14, 2013 with the film expected to have a huge presence at Comic-Con in San Diego later this week! New footage could mean the reveal of the first trailer so fingers crossed!

In the pantheon of superheroes, Superman is the most recognized and revered character of all time.
